About this app

Mjølnir is a language learning app developed specifically for Norwegian, and with English as a starting point.
It combines the quality content of a textbook, the interactivity of a smartphone app and the effectiveness of a memorisation tool.

It is designed with a focus on expatriates living in Norway and aims to cover pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary in order to take you past that tipping point after which you can continue to learn the language simply by using it every day.

Great app. A bit serious but the content is good, particularly the listening. I had a question so contacted them on Facebook and got a reply straight away so very responsive. Perfect to develop vocab, grammar and listening for immersion learning.

I've been using this app for over a month and I'm very satisfied with it so far, it beats every other language learning app I've used. It's based on a flashcard system with audio from native speakers (various dialects) and detailed explanations and examples. There are no "streaks" that some other apps use that(to me personally) make the learning feel like a daily chore, it lets you learn at your own pace. I'm looking forward to doing the lessons every day - and I'm a serial procrastinator.

After trying several apps this one looks like Thor among the mortals: out of the completion. There is grammar, there's is vocabulary, I have more control over the topics compared to "super-duper algorithms" from competitors for vocab grinding. My only wish is that the devs don't change anything: no ads, no subscriptions, no aggressive monetisation. I'll be looking for the ways to shove my money if my experience persists
