About this app

Potenza Drive is an engine sound simulator that brings the most realistic car engine sounds and exhaust sounds produced by powerful cars inside your car.

The purest combination of car engine sounds and exhaust sounds that are recorded from real high performance cars with V8 engine sounds. Feel the pleasure of driving while experience delighted engine sounds that produce the same engine sound effect produced inside a supercar.

Plug an OBD-II ELM327 adapter (On-Board Diagnostic, OBD, OBD2 or OBDII) in your car to read throttle position, acceleration, speed, rev (engine RPM), torque, engine load, gear shift, brake, among others. The sounds are simulated based on the dynamic (mechanical) information of your car which is monitored in real time. The generated sound follows the variations of your car's engine and is played through your car's speakers.

Connect your smartphone to your car's audio system and hear through the speakers the absolute car engine sound experience.

FEATURES:
• Discover exotic car engine sounds with distinctive V8 engine sounds and exhaust sounds.
• Save your favorite car engine sound.
• Explosive Pop & Bang sounds.
• Portrait and landscape mode (use with a car phone holder).
• Listen to music player or navigation while driving.
• Enjoy engine sounds with the app in background.
• Resume engine sounds after incoming/outgoing call.
• Easy car tuning control of engine RPM idle and redline to scale factor the engine sounds.
• Save your OBD-II ELM327 paired device for the next sessions.
• Improve the engine sounds experience with "FAST COMMUNICATION" enabled in the app: most recent cars, support an OBD high speed communication (mandatory since 2008).
• Support for multiple OBD protocols or automatic protocol detection (when OBD protocol is unknown).

THE NEXT GENERATION IS HERE. Sound to your ears.

Works great, the developers are very helpful and responsive. I have tried a lot of app similar to this, but this one has the most realistic sound. I recommend 10/10.

Definitely made my ride more fun. 11 car sounds to be chosen from. Installed on my Android head unit (AC8259 mid-range chip) so no need for aux cable. Around 1s delay between throttle and sound but most of the time it's not noticeable. Paired with ELM327 with 2 PCB as recommended, maybe 1 out of 10 times I need to restart the app for the connection to get established. Normally it would be ready within 2 minutes. Volume wise it's still quite low compared to other apps, even after set to 10 db.

Hey Hakimi, thanks for your feedback! 🥰 Expect new car sounds soon. When audio is played directly and there's delay, it means you must have an old OBD-II protocol (slower and with more communication drops). Our sounds are mainly low frequencies, we recommend larger speakers and increasing the bass (EQ). Here's our contact: support@potenzadrive.com

This is pretty cool and runs well on my Xtrons Android headunit. It would be good to add a switchable turbo spool up noise and add the option of a variety of blow off valves, wastegate flutter or even that chopping noise that seems to be all the rage. The other odd thing for me is that all of the sound seems to come through my sub and not through the car speakers, probably due to the frequency’s being in the low end. I’m toying with making an external sub with a fake exhaust as a port.

Amazing feedback!! 😍 Your suggestions are appreciated and will be considered. Regarding the sound, there is a predominance of low frequencies (bass), leading it mainly through the subwoofer. 🔊 Creating a fake exhaust is interesting and enhances the experience, and we'd love to hear more about it. 🚗💨 Here is our contact: support@potenzadrive.com
