Since 2012, we've helped thousands of expats, travellers, and students worldwide learn Portuguese. Our small-but-mighty team focuses on only 1 language, so we can take a more practical, human approach to the unique challenges of learning European Portuguese: closed vowel pronunciation, the subtleties of formal vs. informal language, and much more.

Practice Portuguese was founded when Joel (from Canada) struggled to find non-Brazilian learning resources, so he teamed up with Rui (from Portugal) to solve this once and for all!

Only had the app for a few days. I've been using the website.So far,the app is working fine, it's the same as the site. Don't give up on it because of app trouble, if you have problems. I'm getting lessons in portugal & using this. It is helping me a lot. I love how easy it is to navigate & love being able to listen to different speakers. It's helping me recognize what people are saying to me in Braga. It's a great resource! 150€/yr is a bargain considering buying classes & books. 5 star.

Some of their learning materials are incredible. Great listening sections and great explanations of grammar. Vocab can feel disjointed at the start and you'll have a better time if you supplement it. But can only give the app 3 stars as is because the app has been so frustrating to use. Slow. Crashes. Logs me out. I recommend the program if you can use the website or are more patient than I am. It's pricey but very reasonable for what you get considering they aren't back by venture capital.

Great app, I started with Brazilian Portuguese on Babbel but realized it was going to be too different to European so switched to this. They have multiple speakers and I had better luck understanding people and them understanding me than when I've tried other languages on other apps. My main complaint is offline functionality, I did a lot on the subway and if they had offline downloads or cached more when there was a connection it would help.
