Samved Sanhita - Sam means song. The mantra that can be sung is called Sam. During the yajna, some eags were sung without recitation. These songs are called sambedas. And the Samar collection is the Samveda Sanhita. Most of the mantras of the Samveda have been taken from the Rig Veda. This Veda has 75 mantras of its own. Samved is a collection of songs performed in Vedic ceremonies. For this reason, Samveda is often called a music book. This Veda is divided into two parts. This first part is archival and the second part is song. Archie is again divided into two parts. These two parts are: Purvarchik and Uttarchik.
