About this app

The goal of Read Scripture is that everyone would read the Bible for themselves and discover the truth and beauty of God’s Word.

To this end, we are curating a year-long Bible reading plan and supplementing the reading with amazingly creative videos (produced by our friends at the Bible Project) that explain every book of the Bible, major theological themes of the gospel, and tips on how to read the Bible.

We will house all of this content in a beautifully designed app that will be available to download in the App Store and on Google Play.

We encourage you to experience Read Scripture in community but it is set up so that you can go through it on your own.

Hi, I've had this app for a few years now. This morning, I went to open it up to continue my reading and the app won't open. I've done everything I can do. I have forced stopped it, shut down and turn it back on multiple times, and I have uninstalled the app twice and reinstalled it with no effect. This is the only app that doesn't work. Is there something that you can do or suggest for me to get this app working again without buying a new phone? I have a Moto G 2022. This app is so important.

I have read almost the entire Bible with this app. It's been life changing! I wish there was an option to switch it to chronological order. That's my next adventure in diving into the good word. Regardless, the Bible project team has done a wonderful job with the explanatory videos that have really helped me understand what I'm reading much better.

Excellent app...when it works. I have the pixel 8 and when I try to watch one of the included videos the app closes. Same thing happens if I try to rotate the screen when the app is open. Another annoying thing is what when I am able to watch a video, the phone still tries to go to sleep, unlike when watching videos anywhere else, so I have to tap the screen like every 15 seconds to keep it awake.
