Ok, have had 4 days use of the new tracking function. The battery use was nowhere near as bad as i expected. Probably used about 7% per hour on my S20. You can create groups and add your family/friends by email address. Tracks where you are in real time and can show where your group members are in realtime. The accuracy of distance and vertical metres is sucks. The run to run, lift to lift accuracy varies by 20% between phones. The LEADERBOARD is now useless due this inaccuracy.

I hate the fact that the dashboard has been removed. The GPS tracker drains your phone battery and is unreliable. Half the runs don't register, even if you take the trouble to turn it on at the start of every run which is very annoying to say the least. At least leave the dashboard there so those who want to just stick with that system can without worrying about whether your phone is going to be flat when you need it most. All the previous years of data are now also gone.

Very disappointed to see the Dashboard has been retired. This was a major feature we used to compete with friends over the season. How are people without a phone (mostly kids) supposed to track their lift access and vertical miles?
