With the Alberta Blue Cross® app 100 per cent of health claims can be submitted online, saving you time and money. Simply sign in using fingerprint or facial recognition to take full advantage of being an Alberta Blue Cross® member today.
The app offers several convenient features such as
• your ID card—making it nearly impossible to forget at home,
• online claims submission—in most cases payment is available next business day,
• real-time claims history—find out if a claim has been processed with direct deposit date,

Here is an idea. Name the app Blue Cross on our phones. I go hunting for it. Can't find it on the app directory. It isn't listed as Alberta Blue Cross, or Blue Cross. I eventually find it listed as the generic names Member App. Seriously? Did someone fall and hit their head over there? What genius thought that one up?

I like this app. It's easy and quick to use and has all the same functions that the website does. The only thing that could be improved would be the ability to open statements in PDF to save or screenshot them to submit to my other provider. The app keeps telling me I have no PDF readers installed, but I have several (Adobe, Microsoft365, Google Drive + a few other system apps). I have to go to ab.bluecross.ca to do this and it's just inconvenient.

Looks great, functionality not so much. I like the functions they're adding to Balance but it's not translating very well onto the app version as on desktop and I use the app most. They've done a revamp of the Balance site with features I love - when it works. As it is it's hard for my phone to load without super data access, which is hard to get in rural Alberta. I'm more of a less fancy, more function kind of person.
