For the most part, it works as expected. I usually get a timely service: taxis tend to arrive promptly (though some arrive over ten minutes earlier than your booked time and phone you as if you're late!), and drivers are generally friendly. What don't work as well are the driver tracking and option to call the driver. The former gives you a blank map, while you get cut off if you attempt the latter. I find that rich given that as previously stated, drivers can call you to hasten you to take a lift they're too early for in the first place! Please sort out those two issues, and you'll have a decent app.

I ordered a taxi tonight through the app and cancelled it as a friend ended up giving me a lift home. I cancelled it before the journey had even been accepted and thought nothing of it. Arrived home and got a text saying my taxi had arrived and tried to call the driver to explain the app must have glitched but no answer. Luckily I checked the app too as another car had been ordered for the same journey, rang Aqua to explain what had happened. The operator was helpful (I've always found the phone operators at Aqua helpful and friendly) and said I would be refunded for the journey of the taxi I hadn't gotten in to. I hadn't even realised I had been charged and when I checked, yes, the driver I had tried to call to explain the app was glitching had charged me for the journey. I understand it must be very frustrating as a taxi driver to have someone not show up for a journey but the drivers should at least consider it might not be the passengers fault and try and contact them, as I tried to contact the driver in my case. It must be common knowledge that the app has it's problems. This isn't the first time this glitch has happened on the app either and not the first time I have been charged for a journey that I didn't take. I have spoken to Aqua drivers who say they charge apparent no shows who pay on card for part or even the entire journey as 'payback' for paying by card. It is extremely common knowledge that a lot of Aqua drivers despise the app and are very vocal about this during journeys with passengers (I've been in dozens of taxis where for the entire journey a driver will berate Uber and moan about customers who use the app). This is definitely not all drivers as I have met and regularly see lots of lovely Aqua drivers. Perhaps the Aqua Cars app can be updated so that an alert comes up on the customers phone asking the customer to confirm the amount being deducted from the card before a driver can deduct from the customers card? Maybe an update/debug is needed for the app.

I've had a good experience with the actual function of the app when my bf has ordered us taxis, the map works okay etc. However, one negative point is how rude the drivers are (they show up early and call you hassling you to come out). However, I just installed the app and saw you can't add a card to pay. I called Aqua to ask about this. You can't pay by card in the app anymore, like you actually have to present the card to the driver. Bit useless when I want to order someone else a taxi.
