About Napoli
The origins of football in Naples date back to 1904, when by the hand of the Englishman William Poths, an employee of the local headquarters of the British shipping company Cunard Line, and two Neapolitans, the engineer Emilio Anatra and the doctor Ernesto Bruschini, the Naples Foot-Ball & Cricket Club was founded. In 1906 it changed its name to Naples Foot-Ball Club, with engineer Amedeo Salsi being the president. The first highlight match was played against the crew of the English ship Arabik, which had previously defeated the award-winning Genoa: the Neapolitan team managed to win by 3 to 2.

In 1912, the Neapolitan part of the club split from the English one, thus giving life to the Unione Sportiva Internazionale Napoli. In 1921, due to financial problems, the teams were forced to unite again being called Foot-Ball Club Internazionale-Naples, better known as FBC Internaples.

On August 1, 1926 the assembly of members of the Internaples decided to change the name of the company, constituting the Associazione Calcio Napoli. Giorgio Ascarelli, a young Neapolitan industrialist and already president of Internaples, obtained the position of the first president in the history of the club.

The Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, formerly known as San Paolo,98 is located in the Fuorigrotta district, in the western part of the city of Naples. It has a capacity of 76,824 spectators (third in Italy after the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan and the Olympic Stadium in Rome), although in recent times the capacity was reduced to 60,240 seats, after the closure of the third ring, 99 and to 54,726 after the renovation for the 2019 Universiade.
