Tien Len Mien Nam (TLMN) is the most popular card game in Vietnam, loved for its simple rules, high entertainment and ability to train the mind.
* Introduce:
Use a deck of 52 cards.
Number of players: 2 - 4 people.
Objective: Play all the cards in your hand before other opponents.
* How to play:
1. Dealing cards:
Each player is dealt 13 cards (2 players are dealt 14 cards).
The player with 3 spades will play first.
2. Rules of playing cards:
The player must play a card that is higher or equal to the previous player's card according to the following principles:
Same quality: Compare numerical values.
Different suits: Compare suits in the order of Diamonds > Hearts > Diamonds > Spades.
It is possible to play a stronger deck of cards to block the previous player's cards.
Strong decks are ranked in order from high to low:
Straight: 3 consecutive cards of the same suit (eg: 3♥, 4♥, 5♥).
Pair: 2 cards with the same numerical value (for example: 2♠, 2♦).
Threes: 3 cards with the same numerical value (e.g. 3♣, 3♦, 3♥).
Four of a kind: 4 cards with the same numerical value (for example: 4♠, 4♦, 4♥, 4♣).
Dragon straight: 10 consecutive cards from 3 to J (eg: 3♥, 4♥, 5♥, ..., 10♥, J♥).
3. End of game:
The player who plays all the cards in his hand first wins.
The remaining players will be scored based on the number of cards remaining in their hand.
The player with the lowest score after a certain number of games will be the overall winner.
* Some note:
When there are no cards to play, players can hide their cards to avoid being counted.
You can use strategies such as blocking cards and chopping cards to win.
