This is probably one if the worst apps that I have ever used. For the first month that I had my generator I couldn't even get it connected to wifi. Once I finally did it would not stay connect. I figured this was due to a new update getting ready to be rolled out through the app. However, with the new update the app still randomly connects and disconnect from the app. Let me repeat, RANDOMLY CONNECTS AND DISCONECTS. The generator itself is still connect to the wifi, so it's just the app itself.

The app itself isn't horrible, but the connection between the app and the generator is, at best, flaky. The hand-shaking method they're using is far too fragile and the setup is too complicated. It seems like I have to re-do the connection every couple of weeks. I don't have to do this with any of our other wi-fi enabled devices. Generac needs to do something to make this process more robust and more user-friendly. That they want to charge you a monthly fee for the full version is criminal.

This app and the onboard controller on my new Generac generator have a long way to go to be useful. I had to replace my cable modem 48 hours ago and it took that long for the notification to be sent that the generator has lost connection with the wifi. Any time it drops I have to manually reconnect, and doing that has required multiple different approaches. I'm technical, so it's not my wifi...it's the hardware and the app. It can't seem to reconnect automatically.
