About this app

"When we defend our rights and raise awareness of their respect and the need to promote and protect them, we contribute to building societies that respect our human dignity."
This electronic application stems from the belief that human rights belong to all of us, regardless of our gender, origin, color, race, religion, language, characteristics or qualities. Given that these rights are natural, universal and equal, working on them and for them stems from the belief in the importance of the inseparability of women and human rights as one of the fundamental issues related to the freedom and human dignity of individuals.
The idea of this guide came after the coronavirus pandemic posed unprecedented challenges that limited the possibilities of communication, the sustainability of education and learning opportunities, the development of knowledge and skills, and the increase in restrictions as a result of the imposition of quarantine or isolation that limited freedom of movement.
The idea of launching this application comes as a first attempt by the Iraqi Al-Firdaws Organization by using possible means to raise awareness of women's rights by developing a strategy for self-paced e-learning. This application is based on a human rights approach that stems from basic international standards and documents related to human rights in general, and women in particular, and compares them with national laws in Iraq to implement them at the state level. Accordingly, this application will be used to provide human rights resources, educational lessons, practical activities and other resources in a simplified form.

This application came after three years of working to empower women in Iraq on their right to political participation within the project "Political participation is a right not a gift", which was based on the Iraqi constitution, Iraqi laws and national action plans in addition to a wide range of international human rights law instruments Including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. In addition to the Vienna Declaration and Program of Action, the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Resolution 1325 on Women, Security and Peace, and the subsequent complementary resolutions that formed the “Women, Security and Peace” agenda (1820-1889-1888 1960-2016-2022 - 2242 - 2467 - 2493), and the sustainable development goals, especially Goal 5 and Goal 16.
