That's the easiest way to sum it up. It seems easy enough, but once you play a few (dozen) times you'll see that it's not always straightforward. The AI players are good and don't always follow the same patterns, so winning isn't always guaranteed. Great game, definitely recommended. Update (2019-09-10): Still great, and the AI players are noticeably different and challenging between difficulties

Mostly fun game. Confusing logic though - as you earn upgrades, the AI player is automatically upgraded also (speed, health, power) making the upgrades useless. Basically the game just gets faster and more difficult. Even on "easy" mode, the AI gangs up on you and mostly ignores the other AI players (there are several). This game would be great if you could play against other people, or if upgrades actually gave you an advantage as opposed to just increasing game speed and AI opponent difficulty.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon here.. the old game was vastly superior. The gameplay at least. This game looks MUCH cleaner, I love the style. Easier on the eyes etc. And from what I can gather, advanced mode lets you send ships to multiple locations, and its automatic which I love. However the 10 level cap is frustrating. And the ai difficulty is very unbalanced. Challenge is good. Tedious is bad. Game would be perfect with uncapped upgrades and easier AI.
