As a songwriter, nothing beats a pen or a pencil for writing lyrics. Songwriting on the go can be a challenge because it's not always practical to carry around a pen and paper.

That's why I built Songwriter's Notebook. It's a simple tool to help you capture your songwriting ideas whenever they come to you, while staying out of your way to let you you focus on the craft of writing songs.

Quickly capture and organise snippets of lyrics and fragments of audio recordings. When you're done, export your work to any app that supports audio and text files - including Google Drive, Dropbox and Gmail.

It won't make you a great songwriter, but it might help you capture your best ideas.

I wish this had a mass export option for when switching phones, but other than that I've been using and loving this app for a few years. However, recently I've started losing recordings! I'll hit record, play/write at least an entire verse, and when I touch the "button" to stop recording it exits the app and doesn't save the file 😭 I've started recording on another device to be safe, but I would much prefer to have everything together on my phone.

I would've given this the full 5 stars because I honestly loved the app when I first downloaded it. However, the minute I got a new phone I tried to transfer everything and I couldn't. So I lost all of my music that I had written and "saved". This app doesn't really protect your work. When you upgrade or update your work is gone forever. I've learned my lesson, it's best to write music the old fashion way, pen and paper!

Used it for a couple of years and it was great - UNTIL YOU UPDATED IT!!!!! I lost EVERYTHING. 2 years worth of ideas...GONE. Additionally while recording audio with this update, if you should happen to turn the phone (either horizontal or vertical) - AUDIO STOPS RECORDING. I messaged eveloper about this and have STILL yet to see a fix, but honestly I don't want them to fix it because when they do, I'll just lose my ideas ALL OVER AGAIN...and yes, I know about upload feature. NOT THE POINT.
