App works great but how can you buy a data plan for 30 days ($4) then because of balance expiry in only 15 days, your data plan stops 15 days later??! Doesn't make any sense

I won a prize on the app and I had to collect it in store but when I went to the phone store they did not want to give me the prize and told me that I must also simultaneously be buying a phone to receive my prize. Upon reading the fine print there was nothing that mentioned this. They were baffled and confused. Typical behavior for this lower breed.
