Liturgy of the Hours should be the prayer of the whole People of God. In it Christ himself "continues his priestly work through his Church" - everyone participates in it by place in the Church and the circumstances of life: priests as performing pastoral ministry, because they are called to persevere in prayer and the service of the Word; monks and nuns by their charism of consecrated life; all the faithful according to their capabilities. "Pastors should endeavor on Sundays and feasts celebrated in churches with a congregation principal Hours, especially Vespers.
