The free Android application allows you to:

· Control your Roku player or Roku TV from your mobile device.
· Browse, add, and rate Channels from more than 2,000 streaming channels offered in the Roku Channel Store.
· Quickly launch your favorite Roku Channels on your Roku player or Roku TV from your mobile device.
· Enter text in your Roku player on-screen interface using your device's keyboard instead of the included remote.
· Name and switch between multiple Roku players and Roku TVs.
. Additional features include shake to pause, voice search, homescreen widget and notification controls.

THIS APP REQUIRES A ROKU PLAYER OR ROKU TV
To use this app, you must connect your Android device to the same network as your Roku player or Roku TV.

HAVING TROUBLE FINDING YOUR ROKU PLAYER OR ROKU TV?
Note: If the app does not recognize your Roku player or Roku TV (you see a “No Roku Devices Found” message after you sign in), try going to network setup again on your Roku player or Roku TV. This will wake your Roku player or Roku TV on your home network. Then, select “Try Again” in the Roku app.

Ratings and reviews

This is the one you want. Roku's app just keeps getting worse. But it's the app, not the hardware. Don't know who works on the official Roku app, but they are incompetent, near as I can tell. No excuse for how broken it has been for how long. This one is written by competent people. It works and it stays working. Use the RoMote to straight up replace the official Roku app and make your Android device a useful remote for it again.

This is the best option for a simple Roku remote app WITHOUT ads. The only features I would request are an option to open the app to the remote screen rather than the devices list, and an option to use the phone's physical volume rocker buttons to control the TV volume (this feature appears on other Roku remote apps).

It's cleaner than the main Roku app, but lacks what they have. I like the Channels feature much better here, it's what you get in the main by clicking Devices, Channels - the problem with the main app is they've got 3 spots called "Channels" each different ("Roku Channel" is a ton of stuff I'd never watch. And in the main app, clicking Remote, Recent Channels is a horizontal scroll). This app does it better. However, I like the swipe setting in the main app, and your Store seems to use WebView.
