Once the camera connects (6d), the interface becomes incredibly slow and laggy. I do not have the same issues with DSLR controller. I even removed DSLR controller from my phone to see if that was the issue: it wasn't. I tried everything I could think of (it's not the cable), but it still doesn't work right. I'll update this review if you fix it, but as a paying customer, I'm pretty ticked at the moment. DSLR controller hasn't been updated in 3 years and it works better than this does.

This is caused by a conflict with another app that also attempts to access the camera (e. g. Gallery, Photos, or another remote control app - but you said you removed DSLR Controller so we know that's not it). Connect the camera first and turn it on, close any pop-ups and suspicious background apps, and only then run Helicon Remote.

I've tried many, many apps and devices for remote camera functions. None are perfect, but this is the best I've tried so far. I'm using it over Wifi with a Canon 5dmiv, and it connects and performs very well. This is a pretty deep app, so it requires some time to understand and appreciate all the functions. I use it for macro focus stacking, and it's such a help. I just purchased the paid version to gain RAW image support. Highly recommended.

Used a Google Nexus 7 tablet with a Nikon D700 - worked. Next up, try a LG 3 with two different D700 cameras. Nice interface. Now to explore real work world applications. Downside: places the camera into transfer mode and depletes camera battery in wirhib 30 minutes. Often much less. Update: I no longer use the cameras I originally used the app with so I am looking forward to testing Helicon Remote with the newer DSLR cameras. In all other aspects the app works fine.

What depletes battery is live view mode. Turn live view off when you don't need it and battery life will be greatly improved. The app itself has nothing to do with it, the live view function is just very power-hungry (if you turn live view on without the app it will be no different).
