Friday prayer

The law of performing Friday prayers is fardhu 'ain for every man who meets the criteria for performing Friday prayers. And the scholars agree that anyone who denies the obligation to perform Friday prayers, then he has left the religion of Islam.

This obligation is based on the arguments of the Qur'an, As-Sunnah and Ijma' (consensus of the scholars).

1. The Koran

Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala says in Surat al-Jumu'ah:

O you who believe, when called upon to perform Friday prayers, then hurry to remember Allah and leave buying and selling. That is better for you if you know. (QS. Al-jumuah: 9)

In the study of their interpretation, the scholars differed in interpreting the word of Allah ÐößúÑö Çááøó (remembrance of Allah). Some have interpreted that the meaning is the Friday prayer. Some other scholars interpret that the meaning of ö ó Çááø õ ÑúßöÐ in the verse above is the Friday sermon.
