I'm pleased to say that I have finally solved the problem of not being able to hear the bird song. My solution will probably work for all Android phones. It should be possible to hear the birds if Google Play Music is selected. On my Android phone another app had been set up as the default player for mp3 files. The first step was to discover which app it was. In my case it was 'Music'. I went to settings, apps and Music, open by default, clear defaults. Then I opened Aves de España...

Es una pena. Me encanta esta app, pero todavía no consigo escuchar ningún sonido. It's a pity that I can't manage to hear any of the bird sounds. Aside from that it is quite good.
