About this game

Bhashe makes vocabulary learning fun by engaging the user in a game-like interface. Kannada hints are given for some of the most common words used in English. A typical use case scenario is, given a Kannada word, to guess the letters of the corresponding English word. Type in letters within the blanks and upon completion, the letters will be highlighted according to whether they are present in the word and are in the correct location (green), present in the word but in the wrong location (orange), or not present at all (red).

If a guess is incorrect, the letters are cleared for a fresh try. At each letter press, possible solution words may be echoed below.

The application intends to engage the user in building vocabulary in English using native Kannada words, like solving a puzzle.

Now marking versions by place names in Karnataka. This version is named after Shivanahalli, a hamlet near the Bannerghatta National Park east of Bengaluru, where the Ramakrishna Mission runs a dispensary and clinic camp, and a well-regarded school for classes I-X.

New home screen, now with added option of playing levels, organized by number of characters in the word; ≤3 – Easy, 4-6 – Medium, ≥7 – Difficult
