About this app

KneadNotes is the notebook a massage therapist keeps between sessions. Client
files, intake answers, signed consent, SOAP notes and a body chart, all on your
own phone.

WHAT IT DOES

Body chart
Tap the front or the back to place a mark: pain, tension, a trigger point, an
area to avoid, or somewhere you worked. Each mark carries a severity from 1 to
10 and a line of its own. Open the next session and last time's marks sit
faintly underneath, and the app lists which of them you have recorded as better,
worse, new or gone.

SOAP notes
Subjective, objective, assessment and plan, with the session details beside
them: duration, modalities, pressure, positions, products used and the aftercare
you gave. Save any line you write often and it is one tap on the next client.

A note closes itself
A note stays open for a day. After that it is not rewritten. Anything you need
to add goes on as an addendum with its own date and time.

Intake
Start with fourteen questions covering pain, medication, allergies, skin, heart
and circulation, pregnancy and the areas a client would rather you left alone.
Edit, add and remove them to suit your practice. Hand the phone over, or fill it
in together.

Consent
Two forms written in plain words: one for the treatment, one for keeping
records. Each covers what will happen, what the alternatives are, what can
follow, the chance to ask questions, the right to stop at any time,
confidentiality and the limits of what massage is. The client signs with a
finger. You set a review period for each form, and the app labels it current,
expiring soon or expired from the date it was signed. Those labels are a
reminder to revisit the form, not a finding that a client has consented to any
particular treatment.

The record as a PDF
One document per client with the intake, the consent, every note and the body
charts, over any date range. It carries the name, practice and licence number
you entered in Settings, and a line on the cover stating that it is a record of
treatment, that it contains no diagnosis, and that it does not establish that
any treatment was appropriate.

Reminders
Consent running out, a client you have not seen for a while, a session from
today with no note yet. Reminders never include client names.

Your data
Client records are stored in the app's own storage on your phone and are not
uploaded. There is no account and no sync. Crash reports and analytics do leave
the device. The app can be locked behind your phone's PIN, pattern or
fingerprint, screenshots are blocked while it is open, and it does not appear in
the recent apps preview or in Android's automatic backup. The backup is one
file, encrypted with a passphrase you choose, and that passphrase cannot be
recovered by anyone, including us.

WHAT YOU GET

The standard tier holds five clients with unlimited notes, the body chart,
intake, consent and the app lock. The full version adds unlimited clients, the
history PDF, restoring a backup onto a second phone, and an unlimited bank of
saved phrases. There are no ads at any tier.

WHO IT IS FOR

Massage therapists working for themselves: sports and remedial, spa, mobile,
prenatal, clinic rooms.

WHAT IT IS NOT

KneadNotes is a notebook. It does not diagnose, it does not suggest treatment,
and it makes no claim to meet HIPAA, GDPR or any board's requirements. Checking
the record-keeping and retention rules that apply to your practice is your
responsibility.

The app is in 10 languages. PDF exports are English only.
