How to Send Money from Anywhere to countries in Africa

- Log into your Barter app
- Click on Send Money
- Click on Send Money Abroad
- Enter the amount and select the recipient’s currency and send money. (Shows the exchange rate, fees and speed of the transaction.)
- Add a new contact and enter the account details, either Bank Account or Mobile Money.
- Review Transaction
- Go ahead and then enter your pin.
- Tag the transfer and Voila. The person gets instantly.

Alternatively, you can use the method below:

- Select the Barter contact
- Enter the amount being sent
- Review the transaction
- Enter pin and send the money

Receive Money from the Abroad:

Barter allows you to send and receive money to and from friends and family overseas at zero cost. Recipients do not have to make any payments or pay any charges for receiving money on Barter from their loved ones.

How to Request Money from Anyone in Africa from Anywhere

- Click on Send Money
- Select contact to request money
- Enter the amount you are requesting for
- Enter the amount being requested
- We will send the request to the contact selected.
- All they need to do is accept the request, and the money will be in your Barter account immediately.

Send money to bank account:

Send money to mobile money numbers or bank accounts from Barter seamlessly.
How?
- Click on send money
- Select Bank ‘Transfer’ depending on the country.
- Add account details or select from the beneficiary list,

Ratings and reviews

Well designed and intuitive. As at March 2, 2021 I am updating my review to reflect my better understanding of the app. Initially, I was frustrated at the hassle of loading my balance. That was me being ungrateful . Really, it is much less stressful than trekking and queueing at the ATM. I treat this as a mobile wallet for small transactions I want to quickly complete. It is perfect for that.

Just checked out the app. Nice app. Web version is just a NO-NO! Don't even bother going to the web version. As for the mobile app, I'm impressed with how fast the local naira transfers go, both inbound and outbound. Dollar card too expensive, exchange rate is at par with street rates at best, and sometimes higher. I'd expect the app owners would have offered exchange rates well below street rates even if above bank rates. This is the real market they are missing.

The transactions are quick. I've funded with both a card and bank transfer, I've also bought data, all went smoothly. There's a little problem I noticed with the interface though, whenever a transaction is successful, the Activity remains the same, as if you need to initiate it again. It's the alert messages that let's me know that it was successful, then I exit the app and start again, that's when I see details of the success
