I downloaded the latest version of the Postmedia/ Edmonton Journal app. It is absolute garbage. I spent 20 minutes with their support person and nothing was resolved. It either doesn't identify me as a paid subscriber or if it does I can't access or participate in conversations. Don't waste your money, don't subscribe to Postmedia publications.

Since the most recent update all news stories are now black text on a black background, thus unreadable. This is across all Postmedia apps as far as I can tell - Vancouver Sun etc. Have removed and reinstalled several times. Running on a Samsung S21, updated, no compatibility issues. Useless. Postmedia is a very appropriate name for this organization, as we live in a post-media era, with most of the media completely useless. Don't think that's what they were going for but it works.

This App is INSANELY advertisement heavy. Ads get pushed non stop while one is using this App, and the worst are the full screen nag ads that pop up, that force you close them. The little 'x' in the top right hand corner is hard to touch with any kind of precision, which then causes another web page to open leading to the website that you just finished trying to avoid being sent to in the first place. Now one has multiple screens to close before getting back to the story you were trying to read.
