Thirukkural is a world famous Tamil literature. Its composer is known as Thiruvalluvar. Out of which 1330 Kurals have been grouped under 133 powers. Thirukkural Sangha is a collection of eighteen books known as Patinkeelkanku in the literary classification. It is basically a biographical book. It explains the basic qualities required for mantras to live harmoniously in their inner lives and to live with pleasure, harmony and well-being in their outer lives. This book explains Korth by dividing it into three major categories (Muppal) namely virtue, materiality, pleasure or lust.
As Thirukkural covers all aspects of life, it is distinguished and called by many names: Thirukkural, Muppal, Uttaraveda, Deivanubul, Bodhikaa, Poiyamozhi, Vayurai Bharti, Tamil Kaa, Thiruvalluvam. This book is also known as "The World's Public Secret" as it expresses ideas that are relevant across time regardless of caste, language or gender.
