Hello. We’re Freesat, the UK's subscription free satellite TV service. The Freesat App is a free app for all TV viewers which helps you find whats on across 200 channels. If you’re a Freesat customer, you can even use the app to set recordings when you’re out and about.

Unfortunately the only useful feature 'Remote Record' has been discontinued. But it's been left in the app, so you can still add a recording but it will never get to the box. At least you could remove features when they discontinued. I will be deleting the app, as it serves no purpose now. It's a TV guide, that's all. Adding recordings via the remote is a horrible user experience, especially as the on screen keyboard is not qwerty. Hundred button presses to find anything. Improvement needed.

The app is now useless as it will no longer send recordings to your box or update your recordings list. According to Freesat there was an update in June 24 that removed accounts, thereby making the app pointless. Everything now has to be done on the box directly. So don't bother downloading it & you might as well remove it from your phone, as I will be doing. I don't see the point of developing an app if you're going to make it useless for the intended use.

They've removed the remote record functionality - which would've been so handy if it had worked reliably. But disappointingly, it no longer updates the recordings you have on your box either and that was very useful. Given the 'using your phone as a remote' feature never worked, what is left of use on the app? A TV guide? That's it? Shame. App uninstalled.
