‘’AccessAble’’ is a social enterprise formed by Deaf and non-deaf professionals with vast experience and training in sign language and issues of deaf people. The overall aim of the ‘’AccessAble’’ is to facilitate inclusion of Deaf people in the mainstream societies. Our work centers around bridging communication gap between deaf people and those who are not deaf especially service providers like health workers, community Development officers, law enforcement officers etc. and families of deaf people by providing inclusive information to deaf people through Ugandan Sign Language training, translation and research thus facilitating unhindered access to services by the deaf and their full inclusion into the mainstream society.
In order to achieve this, we have been partnering with government institutions including local government, Non-Governmental Organizations and international partners.
Our vision is a communication barrier-free community where people including the deaf can freely participate in all sphere of society life regardless of their disabilities.
