Our society has not yet achieved full gender equality, sexist discrimination occurs in all contexts, community, family and personal. In the era of global communication and connected technologies that are the main protagonists of human interactions, gender violence has found a new tool to continue to be perpetuated among people of any social context, educational level or age. However, younger people are the main consumers of Internet content, and therefore the most sensitive and permeable to maintaining sexist attitudes and ideas.
"Utzidazu Lekua" is a fun-educational project, aimed at children and teenagers between the ages of 8 and 14, based on platform and sandbox games. It aims to prevent digital gender-based violence and macho and sexist behavior online and, in particular, in video games, and to promote critical thinking about this content. It is a project created and developed by IKTeskola, with the support of the PantallasAmigas initiative and the support of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Department of Education of the Basque Government.
It is a game that combines the types of platform and sandbox games, with questions related to the topics to be covered at the same time.
The player has to advance in six different stages avoiding physical obstacles, jumping, climbing... He has to destroy the attackers that obstruct his path and the balloon nets that throw violent messages and he can capture those that create a good atmosphere to get points.
Although the elements are placed in the stages to progress, when the player obtains the objects to build, he will be able to complete the stage and can place them where he needs or wants and move them into the spaces.
