Hearts are easy to play, yet there is plenty of room for high strategy. Hearts is truly one of the greatest card games ever devised for four players, each playing individually
The game of hearts is also popularly called as The Dirty, Dark Lady, Slippery Anne, Chase the Lady, Black Queen, Crubs and Black Maria.
Hearts originated with a family of related games called Reversis, which was popular in Spain.
The objective is to be the player with the fewest points by the end of the game.
Hearts is a 4-player trick-taking card game where the aim is to avoid getting penalty points. Each heart is worth one penalty point and the queen of spades is worth 13 penalty points. The other cards have no value. There is no trump suit.
In Hearts, a penalty point is awarded for each trick won, plus additional points for capturing the Jack of hearts or the Queen of Hearts.
