Ratings and reviews

Old school. Good at what it does (streaming of live, and relistening to old content) but stuck in the stuck in the 20th century "push" media days. If you want to find an extended bulletin of news you need to go back to whatever day section might have had that and listen there, all in chunks. Very linear and old fashioned attitude to media. Not really a digital service, just their analogue content put online.

I use this as an alternative to an actual radio around my house (therefore using Wi-Fi) it gets much better reception & can be moved anywhere in the house. It's a tiny bit delayed than actual radio, I don't know why that is. It would be even better if it had a dark mode. But it's still pretty great. I did have to turn the notifications off which was annoying as they're useful for when it's playing but it kept notifying me of other things (despite those being turned off).

Still NZ's best news source, however, the app insists on showing me notifications for sporting events as "breaking" news. In my settings I disabled everything other than "breaking" including Sports. I suspect this is a classification problem at RNZ rather than an app issue. No sports event should ever be "breaking" news.
