The HidroWeb mobile application is an integral tool of the National System of Information on Water Resources (SNIRH, http://www.snirh.gov.br/) and allows access, in this first version, to telemetric data collected by the National Hydrometeorological Network ( RHN), gathering data levels and flows of rivers and rains throughout the national territory. It is an important tool for society and public and private institutions, since the data collected by hydrometeorological stations are essential for the management of water resources and in various economic activities, such as power generation, irrigation, navigation and industry, besides the design, maintenance and operation of small and large hydraulic infrastructure such as dams, urban stormwater drainage and even culverts and roofs.
Through this information, it is also possible to monitor the occurrence of critical hydrological events, floods and droughts, and to plan measures to mitigate the impacts resulting from these events. More than accompanying these phenomena, the data collected to date in the scope of RHN also allows, in several cases, the simulation and prediction of hydrological events and their impacts in urban or rural areas in several hydrographic basins.
The data available through Hidroweb mobile are collected in Data Collection Platforms (PCDs), whose operation and maintenance in the field is carried out by hydrological technicians and hydrological engineers from partner entities or contracted by ANA, which is responsible for planning, standardization procedures and equipment, inspection, organization of hydrometeorological data and their publication. Currently, the Department of Water and Electric Power of São Paulo (DAEE / SP) is responsible for the operation of RHN, the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM), the Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company of Santa Catarina (EPAGRI / SC) the Minas Gerais Institute for Water Management (IGAM / MG), the Instituto das Águas do Paraná (AGUASPARANÁ) and the contractors COHIDRO, CONSTRUFAM and UFC.
