About this app

This Android application is an explanation of the Tafsir Tahlili of Surah Al-Kautsar by Ahmad Sarwat, Lc., MA. In PDF format.

Interpretation of Surah Al-Kautsar

A. The shortest letter in the Koran

This Al-Kautsar letter by Al-Baihaqi who narrated from Ibn Syubrumah is the shortest letter, because it only consists of 3 verses. And that in the Al-Quran there is no letter that is shorter than this letter.

In fact, there are other surahs that only have three verses, for example, Al-Ashr has 3 verses and An-Nashr also has 3 verses. However, Ibn Asyur mentions that the number of words in Al-Kautsar's letter is less, as well as the number of letters

So even though the three letters of Al-Ashr, Al-Kautsar and An-Narhr both only consist of 3 verses, this Al-Kautsar letter is still short, if you count the number of words and the number of letters.

B. Main Contents of the Letter:

Some of the main ideas related to the contents of this letter include that Allah SWT confirms that:

1. The Many Gifts of God

The statement that there have been many gifts from Allah SWT to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The many gifts of Allah SWT are expressed by the lafadz al-Kautsar which has many meanings according to the mufassir, so that it can be easily referred to as: a lot of pleasure.

2. Orders to Pray and Slaughter Animals.

The essence of the commandment in this letter is in the second verse, namely when Allah SWT commands Rasulullah SAW to pray and slaughter animals.

After previously Allah SWT mentioned that He had given so many gifts.

3. The Culture of Pride in Having a Son

Straightening the culture of pride in having sons. In the last part in verse 3, Allah SWT mocks those who once made fun of the Prophet SAW as someone who has lost his lineage.

The culture of the Arab nation which prides itself on descent from the male line does exist and is an instinct or nature of every human being, it even occurs in nations other than the Arab nation.
