Oojao Text Editor is a simple and powerful file editor, to open and save files. It can open more files at once, as it supports tabs.

This app is ad-supported to keep it free, but ads are not annoying and can be quickly closed or temporarily turned off in Settings. And there are no ads while editing!

Added rich text styling options, so you can make your notes look just the way you want them.

An actual text/WYSIWYG editor rather than a note taker so allows individual and alternative save locations. The best I found here. Formatted text is saved as .html file (*.txt.html) rather than .rtf but the result is the same. Ads are annoying but limited. Updates are frequent but they're never explained. Quirky UI. Missing a spellchecker. Drawer and App info names differ. Fresh reset is handy. Good support.

AWESOME! just what I was looking for. (which was a viewer with proper text wrapping) UPSIDES: lots of REALLY REALLY COOL FONTS! (I spent a good 3-5 minutes just looking through them all. there is a harry potter font, for all you wizards out there, and a transformers theme.) DOWNSIDES: are that the options are in... I cannot have the document I am viewing be inverted. (white text on black background (good for night viewing).) (no invert is the reason for low score)

The best App I found for simple text editing, and I tried many. It's a simple Text Editing experience without forcing unwanted steps; launch it, write your text, and go. However, it does give you options to save and manage your text further, but doesn't force you to. It provides full word-processing functionality that "simple text editors" don't have, functionality that's hard to find: Find/Replace, ±Zoom, File Stats, Fonts, Formating, Printing, and Save As Text or HTML to preserve formatting.
