New Zealand’s favourite rural forecasts are now available in a handy smartphone app. The app is free of charge.

The app does not include urban forecasts, marine information, mountain information or maps that are not included in the list above. The app is developed for smartphones and is not supported for tablets.

Hi there There seems to be a buck in the rural weather app. Everytime you open it and choose Picton the app is unable to connect to the server. It will then not let you get back to choose another location. You have to cancel, the app will then close and upon reopening the app you get the same message. The only way to get it back working is to clear cache and data. It seems only Picton causes this problem, other location seem to work fine. We tested it on galaxy S9 and Huawei P20 Pro.

This used to be a great app. Actually just showed the weather in rural areas. Has worked well for a long time but now seems to be really buggy with the app now not working at all, crashing on opening or after selecting an area from a restart.

Having problems with opening the app. it was good but over the last few weeks, it keeps telling me that I have no internet connection when it's already connected and won't open. Eventually it does open but it takes quite a few goes. Please fix and update. Thank you
