If you want to use it free, you must have your own web server. That said, I logged onto my admin account for domain, and there was already a wallabag plug-in available. It was a little tricky to figure out what wallabag was asking for, but the app populates everything automatically, and after going back and forth copying and pasting data, it works great. I just wish it would save an entire webpage for offline viewing. It only saves small amounts of some pages.

Working well for me with wallabag.it and accessing via android app. But I also installed using Softaculous on my web hosting service...the web version works but try as I might I can't get any of my three android devices to connect. Obviously a problem with my hosting, but I'm only a lay person, able to guess modifications to settings in the admin web page and in the android app, not logically arrive at a fix. Self hosting appealed so much!! :(

Fantastic addition to my Homelab. I run Wallabag in a docker container, along with Freshrss and saving articles from my Rss feed to wallabag is seamless. Along press or right click on the article description in Freshrss send the link to wallabag, and ready to read in the wallabag app. Takes a bit to get dialed in but once you do, Wallabag and the wallabag app is the way to go for distraction free reading.
