About this app

Offline dictionaries allows you to browse dictionaries without a network connection, such as when you're on a plane, traveling abroad, out of cellular tower range or if you want to save battery!

Download dictionaries you want to the SD card the first time you launch the app and then perform simple or advance searches (with wild-cards), which come in handy when you're working on a crossword puzzle.

Definitions can also be read by the device using a text to speech module (some devices don't support this and some languages may not be available) and the application can be used with ebook readers.

There are more than 50 multi-lingual dictionaries to choose from, including English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Hebrew, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Czech as well as synonyms and anagrams databases.

Dictionaries are added and improved regularly (ask us if you want a particular one).

It is possible to contribute to dictionaries and to add personal notes.
Synchronize your notes with all your devices by connecting your Google account.

This version is ad supported but you may want to try the pro version which has no ads.

Update: on 20Jun2019, the app seems to be working even when connected to wifi/data. I've been using this dictionary app for years with no issues. Starting 17June2019, the app closes itself after a few seconds. Force stopping and clearing the cache didn't make the app stop crashing. It got to the point where a pop up appeared saying the app kept closing. The only way to get it to not immediately close was to put my phone on Airplane mode. Please fix the issue.

The app is used to be great. But the free version, which is limited to 2 dictionaries, currently has a bug and those two free dictionaries aren't become available after the installation. So the free version is completely unusable at the moment. While the paid version might be still good, I think it would be a strange to buy a paid version only because of a broken free version.

A wonderful application! Whenever I change devices, this is always my go-to dictionary to download. Simple layout, no unnecessary additions. Just perfect to fulfil my writing needs~ EDIT 2019: It's just not worth it now. Simple layout is gone out the window, I can't even figure out how to open the damn dictionaries I've downloaded, and now you have ads. I'm off to find a new app. Bye.
