[Features of HELLO CYCLING]
・As it is an electric assist bicycle, it is very comfortable to move around.
・You can easily rent a bicycle and reserve a place to return it from your current location using the app.
- Rentals are available for 30 minutes, making it convenient for short trips.
(Depending on the area, there may be a mixture of bicycles with different hourly rates. Please check the bicycle usage fee on the app.)
・You can reserve multiple electrically assisted bicycles with one account.

・If you register your IC card, you can easily lend out items from the app without making a reservation.

[How to use]
1. First, register as a member! There are no monthly fees associated with membership registration. Complete in as little as 1 minute!
You can also register an account with your email address, Apple, Facebook, or Yahoo! JAPAN ID.
2. Find HELLO CYCLING stations nationwide
After registering as a free member, launch the app, find a nearby station from the area you want to use, and reserve a bicycle.
3. Head to the station and unlock your bike
Check the reserved vehicle number on the app and press the button on the app. Alternatively, enter the 4-digit PIN number issued by your bicycle's vehicle number to unlock the bicycle and start sharing the bicycle.
4. Ride comfortably to your destination as it is an electric assist bicycle!
Available from 160 yen/30 minutes.

5. Return the bicycle at a nearby station
Return the bicycle to the station you wish to return it to and lock it manually.
Press the "RETURN" button on the key installed on the bicycle to return it. Alternatively, press the "RETURN" button on the operation panel, press "1" (YES) and you're done!

Ratings and reviews

you need an active phone number to sign up, most travel e-sims are data only and don't have a phone number linked to them. this is flawed, we should be able to sign up using an email address instead. you've made it incredibly difficult to hire a bike when things could be more simple. haven't even used the app or the bikes yet and I'm already severely disappointed

The app currently has a bug where you can't register if you have a non japanese phone number. It needs to send you a text to register an account but it just straight up doesn't work. I will update my review if this ever gets fixed.

Costwise, the service itself is passable, only if you happen to be someone who desperately needs it. But if you’re looking for something that makes life a little easier, you'll most likely be pulling your hair out, throwing your phone at the wall due to the app's poor performance/disorganized features.(Edit) In the recent updates since 2025 May, the app's performance has been greatly improved. I hope this also resolved next: Searching for places in JP doesn't work in EN version, which should.
