About this app

Want to understand the statistical concept of normal distribution in a fun way? Our app simulates the Bean machine using a Galton Board that sets a flow of steel beads in motion as you rotate it left or right. The beads bounce randomly through several rows of pegs, accumulating in bins to approximate a bell curve and create a visualization of normal distribution.

With our app, you can visualize the order hidden in the chaos of randomness. Perfect for students or anyone interested in statistics, our app offers a unique and engaging way to understand this important concept.

Great simulation. It would be nice to flip the phone and see the beans falling back to the upper reservoir and start over the process.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Have you tried to swipe/drag the screen? It should rotate the board and make the dots fall backwards

A very straightforward and simple demonstration of a Galton Board or "Bean Machine". Simple and no-nonsense.
