As others have pointed out, as soon as you rate this app you're completely spammed with ads. After rating, touching any button will get you to a temu ad page and then install screen. Worse yet, it doesn't appear to be even close to accurate. Though it might depend on hardware, my Pixel 5A last night, at a LOUD blues club, sitting in front of the PA, registered 90 dB. No way, no how was that correct. Guy next to me running a different app and phone was getting 115 - 118. AVOID!

Seems to work good. Needs more options, such as time tagging & labeling. I don't know how accurate, as i don't have a baseline to compare with. While driving a diesel club cab 1700, as engine revs increased, apparent loudness increased, but Sound Meter db remained the same at 87. I'll find our sound survey for certain areas in the facility and use them as a baseline. Then I'll know for sure how accurate this app is.

The app functions well overall. The first few times you use it is a great experience -- smooth with only occasional ads. Then a pop-up prompts you to rate it. Shortly after the prompt, the ads become CONSTANT and very intrusive. So in addition to being ad-heavy, I think the reviews are inflated because of the deceptive way on which they're solicited.
