About this app

The Bobber App onboards and manages Bobcat hotspots and gateways via deep linking with the Helium Wallet App and/or the Helium App, allowing users to securely manage their miners without giving away their seed phrase. Featuring enhanced diagnostic features, the Bobber app has a built-in web dashboard feature to access miners remotely and in-app notifications to alert users of important status changes to their hotspots. The Bobber app also comes with a Bobchat feature that allows users to chat with other hotspot owners.

Pre-onboarding Bluetooth Diagnostics
Bobber App allows users to find out more information about their hotspot before onboarding to the blockchain, such as hotspot IP Address and firmware version. This information will help users to more easily access the local Bobcat Diagnoser and diagnostic information of their hotspot prior to onboarding to the blockchain.

Bobchat Messaging
Bobber App allows secure p2p chat between Helium hotspot owners. In order to use BobChat you only need two things:
- Have the Bobber App installed
- From your Bobber App, deep link with your Helium wallet

You can now send and receive tokens and hotspots via the Bobber App using Bobchat! Whether you are trading tokens with a friend, selling a hotspot to a third party, or paying out a hotspot host their monthly token share you can now do so quickly and easily from within the Bobber App!
Simply start a chat by searching for a hotspot or entering a wallet name and within a few quick taps, you can complete your transaction. Both parties will see details of the transaction right in the Bobchat window and the receiving party will be able to see this even if they are offline at the time of sending.

Ratings and reviews

When I first installed the Bobber App, my hotspots were automatically added to the hotspot list after I linked the app to my Helium App. A few days ago, Bobber App required me to add my hotspots again, by pairing them via Bluetooth. Most of my hotspots are installed on roofs, inaccessible via Bluetooth. That's why I only rate the app 3 stars.

Require to use this app to onboard a new hotspot. After that it does basically nothing more than the helium app but advertise other products. It used to have info on block sync progress for the individual miners and the ability to fast sync, but those features have been pulled. Very useless app now

For now it's a one star. I started using the app when I found out they added the remote feature for reboot, restart, resync, and fast sync. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I'll keep monitoring it to see if anything changes.
