About this app

This application helps the user to learn and memorize scales for Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Ukulele, and Mandolin.

This interactive scale chart allows you to test your music scale knowledge. Toggle between the three disable modes. The full option shows all notes of the scale in either degree or note name notation. The outline options just shows the positions of the notes on the scale. The test option turns off all hints.

When pressing a note on the fretboard a green marker indicates that the selection was part of the scale. Red indicates a note was not part of the scale. The sliders at the bottom adjust the range of frets to focus on.

Super useful for learning scales. It's nice that you can set custom tunings and even mandolin or banjo as well - it makes learning those instruments easier if you're a guitar person. The test mode is great for quizzing yourself and the full mode is really good for studying and looking for patterns. Overall a great tool that anyone serious about learning scales on guitar/bass/etc could find great use from.

I've given 4 stars based on my experience with Fretboard Learn which has really taken my knowledge of the fretboard to another level in record time. This app has the same explosive potential so I beg the developers for this update: please add a play along feature so that one can hear, see and follow the scale degree movements.. This would make this a monstrous learning tool. The cherry on top would be if there was also the option to practice scales to various melodic patterns.
