New Skills Challenges and more Side Games
The D3 Golf App was created to inspire peer-to-peer challenges for golf. With the app, you can play a number of popular golf side games, manage them, and ensure the elusive ‘settling up’ at the end of the round. The mobile app lets you create an account and user profile, like a social media app does. You can find friends, build groups, and invite people to any one of the most popular golf side games played all over the world. These ‘skill challenges’ are the basis of the D3 Golf platform. See list of available side games below.
Remote Challenges
The usual way to play golf is when you are all together at the same place at the same time. This is called a local challenge. Now you can also create a challenge with someone that lives somewhere else. With our Remote Challenge technology, you can play on your course on one day, and your friend can play on their course on another day. The app takes care of all the crazy math and keeps the scores hidden until each competitor has completed their rounds. You can play one challenge with your 4-some locally – and add a Remote Challenge with your Aunt in Atlanta using that same round of golf. Yah, it does that.
Celebrity Challenges
Developed in 2020, this innovative feature of the D3 Golf Platform has been our most anticipated. Now one player, like a celebrity, can challenge their community to a Remote Challenge to all D3Golf App Users. Yes, you will have the opportunity to play One on One “Remotely” against your favorite Celebrity or Pro Golfer, beat them and win! Yes, we use our handicaps, so you’ll have a fair chance to be a winner against a Tour Pro. The Celebrities and Pro’s will be playing for Charities so even if you lose it will be a WIN!
Group Play
We’ve just added group play to the D3 app. Now you can set up additional players and group them into foursomes (up to 144 players). Whether it be another 4-some, or huge group everyone can compete with live leaderboards for extra fun and competition. Do you have a standard group that plays every Wednesday at your Club? No problem, create the group once and save it as "Wednesday Skins". Sending the Challenge to your group just become a couple of clicks! NOTE - Awesome player reporting is coming out in a few weeks too along with some other surprises!
The D3 Golf Side Games
Nassau
Based on match-play scoring, the low net wins the hole. Three separate bets are made in a Nassau game for the front 9, back 9, and overall score. This is the original ‘Dollar Dollar Dollar’ game.
Skins
Based on match-play scoring, the low net wins the hole. The player that wins the most holes wins the challenge. If any two players tie on a hole then all tie and the skin is either passed by or carried over until the next single winner of a following hole.
Stableford
A popular points-based game where the player’s net score is given a point value. A net double bogey or higher gets 0 points, a bogey gets 1 point, par 2, birdie 3, and eagle 4 points. Most points earned wins.
Stroke Play
The most common game in golf, this challenge is based on the total net score for each player. At the end of the round, the low net score wins.
Dots (some call it JUNK)
Dots can be earned on every hole when an event happens. For example, if you land in the sand and still make a par, you get a dot called a Sandie! Birdies, and eagles get a dot too. You can also play dots on top of other games.
