Japan Weather Co., Ltd. has announced forecasts for the blooming and full bloom dates of approximately 1,000 cherry blossom (Someiyoshino) cherry blossom spots across the country, from Hokkaido to Kagoshima.
■What is “Sakura no Kimochi”?
This is an app that shows the expected blooming/full bloom dates of cherry blossom spots (famous cherry blossom spots) across the country, as well as the progress of cherry blossoms towards bloom (blooming meter).
Furthermore, it is equipped with features that allow you to enjoy cherry blossoms even more, such as the ``Sakura Spot Approaching Notification'' that lets you know when you are approaching a cherry blossom spot, and the ``Stamp Rally'' that lets you record the spots you have visited.
■What is “MY Spot”?
This is my favorite cherry blossom spot. You can register up to 30 items.
■Nationwide cherry blossom map
You can see the locations of cherry blossom spots across the country using pins on the map.
You can also tell the growth level of the cherry blossoms by the color of the pins.

You can call up the route guidance function of your map app from the "Route to this cherry blossom spot" button.
* Displaying a large number of pins at once may slow down loading.

You can register the spot as your MY spot by clicking the "Add to MY spot" button.
You can put a visited stamp on the spot using the "Visited Stamp" button.
The "Visited Stamp" button becomes available when you visit a spot (*).
*This will not work unless the use of location information is always permitted on the device.
*If you have visited once, you can press it even after leaving.
■Details screen (spot detailed information)
You can check the detailed information of the spot (such as whether there is a parking lot or not) on the comprehensive weather website "Weather Navigator".

You can see the spots that you have stamped as visited so far.
Stamps do not reset even after the season ends. Let's increase it little by little!
■Sakura spot approach notification
You will be notified when you approach a cherry blossom spot.
*It will not work unless "Notifications" and "Use of location information" are always allowed in the device settings.
*Depending on the acquisition status of location information on the device side, notifications may not be sent.
*Due to errors in location information, you may receive notifications even outside the range of notification settings.
■Settings screen
You can set the range to be notified of approaching cherry blossom spots.
【Notes】
*The predicted flowering/full bloom dates are predictions calculated using our own prediction formula, and are not guaranteed to be accurate.
*My Spot and Stamp Rally information will be lost if you uninstall the app.
[About cherry blossom growth]
The flower buds that form the basis of cherry blossoms are formed in the summer of the year before they bloom, and they bloom only after dormancy, awakening (breaking dormancy), and growth.
After flower buds are formed in summer, they first go dormant. After awakening (breaking dormancy) due to the constant cold in autumn and winter, it begins to grow as the temperature rises in early spring.
[About information provision period]
Flowering meter information is provided around autumn every year and is updated daily thereafter.
Expected flowering and full bloom dates are announced around January every year and updated weekly from mid-February onwards.
In addition, the above information will be discontinued starting from spots where the cherry blossoms' status becomes "Hazakura" one week after the expected full bloom date.
[About the weather navigator]
Information on cherry blossom bloom forecasts can also be found on the comprehensive weather website ``Weather Navigator.''
https://s.n-kishou.co.jp/w/
Weather Navigator not only provides information on cherry blossoms, but also provides information on facilities such as addresses of famous spots and the availability of parking lots. You can access the page directly from the "Spot Detailed Information" button in the app, so please take a look as well.
