About this game

THE GAME

Axis is an original game created by Alain Lecherbault, French designer. Axis is originally a board game to oppose 2 physical opponents in 6 winning rounds at international competitions.

The Axis Game app is an alternative to this board game. Here, you play against the machine, and you discover your level of play. This level of play, called "Grade", is an official evaluation based on a very sharp calculation combining scores and way of playing. It was developed by the author himself after thousands of parts observed. This calculation is applied after 6 rounds won by one of the players.

RULES

After a classic draw, the players (for the application, the main opponent is an algorithm) deposit in turn a pawn on one of the free squares of the board. This pawn is called the Axis counter.

When a player places his Axis counter on a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal axis that already has at least 3 counters of his color, the player "takes" that axis, that is, he adds not only so many pawns that the axis has empty squares but also captures the pawns of the opponent; the pieces "taken" from the opponent on this axis are deducted from the score of the latter. The player's pieces do not need to be contiguous on the take-pin to make the take.

The Axis counter placed during a move can decide to take several axes at the same time as long as the "take" condition is met on each of the axes where this piece is (at least 4 counters).

Part of Axis ends when all the boxes on the board have pawns. It is the player who made the best score who is declared the winner of the round. A complete game of Axis takes place in 6 winning rounds.

At the end of a game, and depending on the number of points and heats acquired, the player is awarded or not a grade of play: Squire (1), Knight (2), Baron (3), Duke (4) ) or Prince (5). This grade is acquired forever: it is in fact the level with which the player can be confronted with other players during international competitions. Attention, the "rank" is not systematically assigned if the level of play is low.

highscore

A highscore system is integrated into the game: the top 10 scores are recorded online and displayed. Full help in French and English is provided with the game.

Axis is a totally free game and requires an internet connection to activate the highscore.
