The purpose of this application is to do a remote update of specific parameters on the device.

Search in your app tray for Remote. Immediately it will show you the ingrained app that you can then disable fully. Restrict all background use, followed by turning off background data access, clear all data then disable. You will quickly see that it's useless and should be removed. It hasn't even been updated. Very easily someone can hack a moto phone with a backdoor like this.

Motorola really needs to provide a more thorough description of just what it is this app does and how; there's a very brief and vague description, and reading the comments you can see people are quite concerned about this facilitating backdoors into their phones, which makes one wonder. I'd like to know myself if it's an essential, or can I just uninstall it; I'm tired of all the unnecessary bloat that gets placed on phones.

Malware. I work in computers. Remove and disable all Moto apps possible, including background data. Lenovo and Motorola are legitimately dangerous!
