Introducing the all new BLACK+DECKER app. You can connect the BLACK+DECKER™ app to your SMARTECH™ / SmartTech™ batteries via Bluetooth®. Once connected, you can view the current charge of your battery, turn on or off the USB charging port, enable or disable the battery, and locate your battery when lost.

• BATTERY STATUS
Know if you’re truly ready for a project by checking how much charge you have from the start. You’ll also be able to tell how much remains until you get the task done.

• PORTABLE CHARGER
The SMARTECH / SmartTech battery has a built-in portable charger so you can conveniently charge your mobile devices.

• LOCK
Remotely lock and unlock your SMARTECH / SmartTech battery and tools for convenience and in case of theft.

• LOCATE
You can trigger an audible and visual alert to help you locate your SMARTECH / SmartTech battery.

• PROJECTS

The app allows me to check the battery level during operation of the vacuum cleaner. It will allow me to drive the cleaner but I would rather pick the vacuum cleaner up and move it. I like the scheduling feature! It's nice to be able to pause the a vacuum using the app. Edited Two years of vacuuming and it is still going strong. App connects to vacuum in the basement when I am upstairs.

Connects to my vacuum, shows me battery level and status but... Thats about it. Vacuum is unresponsive to anything in the app, i have to start the vacuum manually. Scheduling doesnt work (even if it did, it doesnt unless your phone is connected to it so no away from home cleaning...).

First, I needed the app to bring the drill to work: ridiculous. Second, the connection was not possible with my BLU phone. I had to use my Samsung tablet. Finally, the app asks for localisation otherwise it would not install, so the drill would not work. I am now wondering if I should return the whole thing.
