It works fine as a stud finder, but I don't like the way that I need to create an online account to use a stud finder, don't like being tracked with advertising ids, etc. Minus one star for that. The fine print says: You acknowledge that you are aware that this App and the Sensor should not be relied on exclusively to locate items below a scanned surface. So you need also a real stud finder. Another minus star.

The startup process to use this device every single time is ridiculous. Not only does it make you calibrate every single time you use the device, it makes you click through the tutorial every time. I have the same kind of drywall and paint throughout my house. Why do I need to calibrate every single time? I ended up buying another stud finder on top of this one because of how annoying this startup is. In response to the developer response: I do have tutorials off and it still shows prompts.

I've been an electrician for 33 years. I stumbled upon the original Walabot several years ago on Facebook. It was the best find ever! I'm considering upgrading to the Walabot DIY 2 with Expert Mode. Having the ability to work detached from my phone will be a plus. I'm sure that I will get the same quality of service that I will be able to pass on to my clients. I'm looking forward to leaving a review when it arrives!
