About this app

The health weather app of the DWD provides the health system, particularly affected people and risk groups, as well as the general public with the current warning and weather situation in relation to the current health effects.

The Health Weather app offers the following functions:

• Overview of the health weather (hazard information and official warnings) for freely selectable locations in Germany:

◦ Official UV warning, UV index and UV warning for children
◦ official heat warnings and perceived temperature,
◦ Pollen forecast for hazel, alder, ash, birch, grass, rye, mugwort and ambrosia,
◦ Sensitivity to weather (weather-related complaints and symptoms) for general impairments of well-being, asthmatic diseases, cardiovascular complaints and rheumatic complaints.

• Overview of the health weather at national level accordingly:

◦ spatially resolved for thermal hazard index and UV hazard index,
◦ zoning for pollen count
◦ Area classification of the hazard indices for those sensitive to the weather

• Freely configurable warning elements and warning levels
• Configurable alarm function (push notification) for weather conditions for freely selectable locations (map, GPS location and postcode)

• Health weather and pollen widget
