About this app

Software uses devices accelerometer and trigonometrical equations to estimate distance to a tree and tree height. When measuring the height you can choose whether you already know distance to the tree or the distance should be measured with this software. Note that measured height value will be more accurate when you insert exact value of distance. Software has assisting cross on the screen, that helps you to measure tree base and tree tip.

Have been using this as a forest measurement tool for over five years. I always measure trees from between 10-20m away, which is measured with an actual measuring tape first. Accounting for dbh which is taken at 1.3m from ground, and measuring timber height or tree height, this gives an accurate trigonometric measurement of the height required via the camera screen as viewfinder. However, you have to have some common sense to use it, which many reviewers here seen to lack.

A wonderful little app that does exactly what it was designed for. The important thing is to handle the phone correctly. Keep it at the same height while measuring!

It does the simple math for you, you just need to hold you phone in the right height and angle
