NHK Plus is a video streaming service that enables you to watch NHK's terrestrial broadcast programs on the Internet.

● Catchup
You can watch General TV and E-TV programs for 7 days after the broadcast ends.

● Playlist
TV programs are arranged by genre and theme, making it easier to find programs.

● Subtitles, bilingual and commentary broadcasts are also available.

-Service area
NHK Plus is available only in Japan. Judgment is based on the IP address of the customer's internet connection.

Ratings and reviews

Registration is a very involved process and (as it turns out) requires an NHK viewer contract to be operational. Poorly managed app: it worked well for a short while, then suddenly I could no longer access the site & had to re-enter my ID or PW, but was told they were 'wrong' (though I'm 100% sure they were correct). Requested a new ID & password and entered my email address to receive an email with instructions (& security question) but... that email never came! Do better, NHK!

This app does what it's supposed to do very well. Video rarely buffers, whether it's the live stream or past shows, and the quality is very good as well.

Could be much better and more convenient if NHK were run by thoughtful people
